Family images:

photographic Exploration and the Psychology of Relationships

Workshop Online (on ZOOM platform), in Italian.

Instructors: Francesca Belgiojoso and Agata D’Ercole

16 hours of training, divided into four modules of four hours each..

A unique opportunity to explore the world of family images and deepen the understanding of emotional bonds. Through four modules, we will work with the family album, photographic genogram, and collage, learning how to integrate them into psychotherapy.

Workshop structure

First module

We will guide you through the history and significance of the family album, delving into the underlying psychodynamics. We will explore the symbolic meaning of different family images and their influence on our perception of relationships.

Second module

In this module, Agata D’Ercole will introduce us to the photographic genogram. Through exercises and role-play, we will learn to understand how it works, revealing family patterns and relational dynamics that influence us.

Third module

In this module, we will experience collage as an expressive tool for exploring emotional legacies.

Fourth module

In the final module, we will explore the main authors who have used family photographs as prompts for their artistic projects and see how to integrate the family album, photographic genogram, and collage into clinical practice.

In each module, we will dedicate time to reflect on how, when, and why to offer this work to patients. We will leave ample space for the supervision of your clinical cases to provide you with practical and theoretical skills to integrate these methodologies into your professional work.
